Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Penang area.

If you want to experience a sample of everything that Malaysia has to offer from one convenient location, then Penang Island, known as the “Pearl of the Orient,” is the best place to begin your adventure. One of the world’s longest bridges connects the town of Gelugor on Penang Island to the town of Seberang Perai on the Malaysia mainland’s northwestern coast. Ferry service also is available from Butterworth on the mainland. In the early 1800’s, Singapore began to replace the port of Georgetown in commercial importance, but unlike contemporary Singapore, much of the original colonial look and feel of Georgetown, named after King George III, has remained. About twice as many Chinese as Malaysians now reside on Penang Island, with Indians comprising a significant minority, which together with its British colonial heritage creates a multi-cultural ambiance unique to this area of Malaysia.
